Sunday Morning

Coffee cake is a tradition in our household around this time of year. I absolutely love baking even though I don't do it often (darn calories!) and coffee cake is one of my favorite sweet treats for fall. I usually use Martha Stewart's recipe because her desserts are absolutely decadent - who doesn't love Martha?! This time I served Kenny and myself a slice of my homemade coffee cake with a side of Starbucks® Caramel K-Cup® Packs coffee for a lovely Sunday morning breakfast - the perfect pairing if you ask me. Not a day goes by where I don't drink at least two full cups of coffee and eat a little sweetness so I was thrilled when Starbucks asked me to sample this delicious new K-Cup® Pack. Plus there's something special about spending some morning time together with your man while sipping coffee and eating a delicious homemade cake. Like I said before, weekend mornings are my favorite! I'm always on the lookout for more fall recipes, especially desserts, so do tell me what your favorite fall pairings are!

p.s. Add some chopped walnuts and drizzle a little caramel sauce on top of your favorite coffee cake - it adds a little crunch and keeps the cake moist and tasting incredible!

Fall Fashion Steals

I made out like a bandit! Jeans, great tops, the perfect fall hat, and even a pair of nice booties that I know I'll be wearing a whole lot during these cooler fall months all from Sears. Sears truly surprised me with the wide variety of available items - this hat being my favorite find! I used to think hats weren't my thing but last fall I decided to go with it and give the style a try. Done deal. I now own quite a few hats but this classic wide brim hat is the perfect go-to when I'm looking for a classic hat that will look good with anything. I'm always on the look out for a good deal and I found a whole lot of those at Sears. I encourage you to visit Sears.com and check it out for yourself!

Sweater Weather

Sweater Weather

Right before winter rears its ugly head I like to prepare myself and go through my closet - donating any sweaters I think I won't be wearing, smoothing out the wrinkles on my favorite sweaters (that's what being stored under the bed will do!), and figuring out whether I need to make a few new investments. This year I feel prepared for the winter they're predicting - a very, very cold one. But that doesn't mean I don't want to treat myself to one or two new pieces - you know, just to keep the wardrobe up-to-date kinda thing. I love this Tory Burch cashmere turtleneck - an updated version of the classic style with a chunky knit collar and a hint of color block for fun. I also recently discovered the brand Joa via Piperlime and love, love, love this checkered sweater! Plus the price can't be beat.
