We are 10 days away from our wedding and I find myself going through our engagement pictures from 11 months ago.
Have I ever told you how K proposed? It was the best night of my life. On our fourth year anniversary K planned a dinner at Asiate in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Columbus Circle. That Sunday, July 4, 2010, he had to go to the office for a bit so we decided we'd meet at the hotel bar for a cocktail before dinner once he left work. I spent the day lounging around the apartment and getting pretty. At 6pm we met for cocktails and had an amazing dinner right after. When it was time to get the check K excused himself to go to the bathroom. As I waited for him to return the restaurant manager approached me with an envelope that contained a key and said "Mr. N would like for you to meet him in Room 2130." I died, obviously. I felt like every single person in that dining room knew what was about to happen because they were staring at me with a big grin on their faces as I walked out in the direction of the elevators. I got on the elevator, still shaking, and arrived on the 21st floor. I'm not quite sure what my thoughts were as I walked through the hallway and to the room where K was waiting in, but I'm almost positive that I was extremely nervous. Without hesitation I swung open the door and there he was on one knee, shaking as well, and surrounded by rose petals and candles. I have NO idea what happened next, but I do know I said yes to his proposal! It's so hard to believe that I'm so close to being Mrs. N and marrying the love of my life. Time really flies when you're with the person you love most in the world!
The talented Erika Lyn was the photographer behind these shots. We chose a Fall afternoon for the shoot and all the pictures were taken in our neighborhood, the West Village, and in the Meatpacking District/High Line area. That day was absolutely magical!
