Preview Of Our Wedding: Part 1

Our wedding is in exactly 16 days now and time is seriously flying! When I posted about how close we were to our BIG day a lot of you didn't even know I was actually going to be a Mrs. so incredibly soon. That's why I have decided to give you a little tour thorugh my wedding inspiration, the details that will be a part of our day, and a few more extras. Part 2 of my wedding preview (if you can call it that) will be next Thursday - exactly one week before we leave for sunny San Juan, Puerto Rico to tie the knot!
Ok, where do I even start?! Let's go with the location, ceremony, and invitations shall we?

We're getting married at the Ritz Carlton in San Juan and I wanted to incorporate the beachy feel of the island with the elegance of the wedding I had always dreamed of. The ceremony will take place in the outdoor gazebo which faces the ocean and the space will be decorated with flowers and candles to give it a somewhat whimsical feel. The guests will then be escorted to the ballroom where the dancing will start and continue until the wee hours of the night. But more on the cocktail hour and reception next Thursday.

The ceremony will be short and sweet - just like we wanted. We are incorporating both our religions so you can say it will be a nondenominational ceremony. Unity candles will be lit, K will break the glass, we will drink out of the kiddish cup, and other fun elements will be incorporated to our "I do's."
I wanted our flower arrangements to be simple and elegant, combining different shapes and sizes. My bouquet and K's boutonniere will hold a small locket each with a picture of our late grandfathers. I thought this would be a good way to remember how special and important they were, and still are, in our lives.
Our save the dates, programs, itineraries (for the welcome bags), seating cards, and menus were designed by my uber talented friend, Jen Strauss. She's brilliant when it comes to these things so I let her really take the lead on these projects. Our invitations were done by Letterpress Light and they have a little Spanish feel to them which I thought would be a fun element to add since the wedding will be in PR.
p.s. None of these images are of our real invitation suite because I want those to remain a surprise for when we get back and I get to show you all the pictures!
Ok, ok. I'll show you a blurry Blackberry picture of what our REAL itineraries look like! The "logo" is my favorite part of all! These will be put in the welcome bags for all of the out-of-town guests along with many other goodies from Baltimore (K is from there), PR, and NYC. What do you think?

My beautiful bridesmaids (all 8 of them!) will be wearing Amsale chiffon dresses. We went and tried on a million different styles and designs, but the one we picked was by far the favorite amongst all of them. My matron of honor, my bestest friend in the world and roommate of four years, will also be wearing the same color Amsale gown, but a different style. The handsome men are all wearing tuxedos and K is gifting them with the tie they will be sporting.
I'm trying so hard not to give too many details away because I want to surprise you all when I return from our honeymoon and have some fun pictures to share! K and I are just so excited to share the moment with our family and closest friends and we can't wait for October 29th to get here! I guess after 15 months of planning that's what happens...

  1. So pretty! I love that it's beachy yet sophisticated, neutral, classic. Not the typical tropical wedding. It's going to be so gorgeous! Can't wait to see your pics.

And congrats on the upcoming wedding! I've been married for 8-1/2 years and it keeps getting better (especially once you have wee ones).
