The Perfect Fall Wedding {Guest Post} Liz from Sequins and Stripes

Hi there! It's Liz from the style blog Sequins & Stripes and I am super excited to be posting for Viv while she is tying the knot in sunny Puerto Rico! Fall is no doubt the most beautiful time of year here in Chicago, and I can't imagine a more perfect setting than a fall wedding. Obviously a fall wedding in Chicago is a little different from the beaches of Puerto Rico, but I think the idea of fall is pretty uniform around the world. Here are a few of my fall wedding favorites...
1 The Venue: I dream of getting married outside in an old barn that has been dressed in the finest velvet drapes and twinkling lights. This barn won't need much decor, it pretty much makes a statement all on it's own.

2  The Reception: Natural wooden tables and chairs would be set up outside of the barn with dozens of gorgeous flowers in fall hues filling the table. The menu would consist of comfort food, followed by hours and hours of dancing to a live band.

3  The Dresses: My dress would be simple and chic, with no beading but maybe a bit of lace. My bridesmaids would be dressed in long neutral dresses {allowing for the flowers to steal the show!}

4  The Flowers:  Because the backdrop for the wedding will be natural and neutral, my flowers will be bountiful and beautiful. I dream of rich ruby tones, burnt orange, soft peach and blazing yellow bouquets to provide a burst of color.

5  The Cake: Soft and sweet. This white cake with burlap wrapped around each tier has me drooling.

6  The Details: Mason jars, twinkling lights, and handwritten signs.

7  Hair: This soft braid is so stunningly simple, it would definitely hold up against drinking and dancing.

8  Theme: The natural wood theme would by consistent throughout all details of the wedding, including the seating assignments.

What do you envision for your dream wedding? I have a feeling that Viv is going to bring home some pretty dreamy photos and I can't wait to see! Congrats Viviana, so happy for you!!
