If My Home Had a Wish List...

If my (not very big) one bedroom apartment could have a wish list, it would look something like this...
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
I'm a big fan of small details. A pretty picture frame, a vase full of fresh flowers, a cozy throw, a delicate pair of champagne flutes. Those are the kinds of things I notice when I'm over at a friend's apartment for dinner or drinks and those are the things that I put a lot of importance on around our home. The little details are the ones that make the home your own.

Tuesday Craving: B Brian Atwood

Obsessed with the chunky heel and the combination of suede and snake embossed leather. Obsessed.

A Formal Affair: Del Posto

Wearing - Dress: Myne, Shoes: Christian Louboutin, Bag: vintage Fendi, Earrings: David Yurman, Bracelets: vintage Judith Ripka and vintage pearls, Coat: J.Crew
K and I had an amazing dinner at Del Posto with a few friends this past Sunday. Del Posto is Mario Batali's fancier Italian restaurant in the Meatpacking District. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely incredible... the chandeliers and the dark mahogany throughout give it a feel of 1950s Italy. The downstairs of the restaurant is exclusively for larger groups and since it was 10 of us we decided to make the reservation in the Wine Cellar dining room. Our table was set in the middle of an impressive collection of wines from all different regions of Italy. The menu we chose consisted of four courses: a choice between a lobster fra diavolo and poached octopus, orechiette in a lamb ragu, choice of rustic old style chicken and rack of lamb, and a choice of dark chocolate and hazelnut chocolate for dessert. We all had a magical time and ate way too much deliscious food.

If you haven't had the chance to eat at Del Posto then I suggest you make a reservation asap. The wait staff could not be more knowledgeable and friendly and the food couldn't be any better.

A Kardashian Closet

I would LOVE to have a huge walk-in closet that could fit everything I own! Living in NYC allows me to have a teeeeeny tiny closet and not much storage space. I have tons of storage bins under the bed, in the linen closet, and pretty much all over the bedroom (K hates it!), but it's all because I just don't have enough space to put things away! A large walk-in closet would solve sooooo many storage issues! The Kardashian sisters have amazing style and incredibly large closets to fit their enormous designer collections of clothes, accessories, and shoes. Oh, how I wish I had just a fraction of that closet space!
The sisters in their stylish and very full closets.
Kim's jewelry collection is aaaaaahmazing and includes pieces from er favorite jewelry designers: Lorraine Schwartz and Loren Rydinger.
Khloe's unreal shoe collection includes more than 100 pairs of Louboutins. Must be tough...
A vanity with a view... just like mine... not!
Do you have enough storage space in your apartment or are you in a situation like mine?! I would love to hear your storage ideas!

Sunday Afternoon Craving: Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney is a genius. Do you agree? The cream, navy, and green color combination and the geometric shapes give this little number a retro chic feel. I'm in love.

Thankful For...

There are so many things I am thankful for on this beautiful Thanksgiving Day. First and foremost, I am thankful for having found my soulmate. I married the most wonderful man in the world. He makes me a better person, believes in me, and loves me through thick and thin. I'm also thankful for the amazing family and friends I have. They are my backbone, my support system. Lastly, I am thankful for all of you, my lovely readers, for supporting and inspiring me every single day. I really am a very lucky girl!
Have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving, luvies!

The Look for Thanksgiving

I was reading Women's Health while on the subway on my way home from work and they had some really great tips on what to wear for the BIG Thanksgiving meal. They suggest you wear something that hugs your body so that you're more conscious of how you look and therefore don't overdo it. I'm a big eater (not going to lie) so I thought this was a really brilliant suggestion! My perfect Thanksgiving outfit this year will be some skinny jeans/pants, a chambray or plaid button down shirt, and a fair isle or knit sweater that adds some color to the ensemble. The skinny pants will hopefully provide me with enough self control and not enough to space to overdo it!

I want a simple pop of color to add some cheer to the outfit and a bright sweater on top of jean on jean does the trick. The gray cheetah print pumps add the extra little bang I was looking for!

What are you wearing this Thursday?

Pretty Paper

I'm sure I've already shared with you my love/obsession with pretty stationery. I'm a firm believer in the power of written words. I believe that the best way to make someone feel special, thank them for a gift or gesture, wish them a happy birthday or anniversary, or just tell them how special they are to you is by writing them a note. Beautiful calligraphy goes hand in hand with pretty paper and Emily from sparrownestscript is an absolute expert on both. Emily's creations are just the epitome of pretty paper.

Could note cards be any prettier? I don't think so. And this notebook. I have no words. I want it so I can scribble all my long wish lists and to do lists in it!
Since the holiday season is right around the corner... run, don't walk, over to Emily's shop and make sure you stock up on notes and greeting cards.

Under the Weather

Fever, body ache, sore throat - the whole shabang - makes for a not so fun weekend. Today will be spent on the couch watching football and drinking some chamomile tea with honey. Thankfully the hubby is taking good care of me and I hope to be back in action tomorrow!

Faux Furry Fun

Fur is everywhere you look these days. I'm sure you've seen the pops of fur at your favorite stores, at the club or bar, and even at the office. And the best part about fur is that, just like leather, the faux version looks just as real and is actually affordable. Now, how do you incorporate fur into your outfit? My personal favorite piece of fur clothing is the fur vest which can dress up and complete any outfit in an instant...
I can't wait for Santa to deliver the little beauty I asked him for this Christmas and, in the meantime, I'll show you ladies a few of my very own favorites.
BB Dakota, 2 Ella Moss, 3 Vince (if you like the real deal!)
Are you craving a fur piece this season?

A Dream In The Greenwich Village

Veronica Swanson Beard, daughter of the frozen food-scion W. Clarke Swanson Jr. and younger half of the famous socialite Beard sister duo, knows what great style is. She shares a dreamy three floor Greenwich Village apartment with her husband and two sons. They moved into their 4,000 square foot not so humble abode in 2006 and the space is anything but minimalist. The vibrantly colored walls, exotic fabrics, and exquisite art make this home a lush and absolutely heavenly space.

The bold fabrics and colors throughout, the leopard upholstered chairs by the fireplace, and the playful black and white striped wallpaper are my favorite aspects of this home. Now, when do you think I can move in?

Honeymooning in Paris

Paris is a magical city. Romantic, full of wonderful architecture, with some of the best restaurants in the world, and an amazing history. K and I arrived in Paris late on Saturday night after taking the EuroStar train from London to Paris (highly recommended!) We stayed at the super cute Esprit Saint Germain Hotel and had the BEST time EVER. The highlights of our trip include: a perfectly touristy dinner at Fouquet's, a ride on the Seine, a fancy lunch at Le Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower (yes, the restaurant is located on the second or middle platform and has a private elevator!), hot chocolate and the best quiche lorraine at Angelina, drinks at Bar 8 in the brand spankin' new Mandarin Oriental, steak frites at the most amazing bistro in all of Paris - Le Relais de EntrecĂ´te, a visit to the Catacombs, a morning spent taking in the amazing views of Paris from Montmartre, and a very special dinner at Le Meurice. There is so much to do in Paris that it is just impossible to cover it all in five days. However, Paris proved to be a perfect honeymoon destination and made K and I fall deeply in love with it.

Can you tell that we ate A LOT and had an amazing time?! We've been back for only five days and I'm soooo ready to go back!

Honeymooning in London

Our honeymoon plans got a little messed up due to the flooding in Bangkok and the fact that Air France just went ahead and cancelled our flight out to Asia. However, K and I were not going to let that stop us from going away to a beautiful place, dining and wining, and doing a little shopping on the side. After much brainstorming on the day after our wedding, two hours before our flight back to NYC, we decided to cancel our Southeast Asia honeymoon and book a new one to London and Paris. We arrived in NYC exhausted and emotionally drained so we went right to bed and woke up Monday morning with the goal of booking a brand new honeymoon in less than 24 hours. I must say, it worked out GREAT!
We left NYC early on Tuesday and headed to Foggy London Town. It was my first time in this wonderful city, but K had been there a couple of times before. We spent four amazing nights at The Ritz London, right in the middle of everything. We dined at Nobu London, Hakkasan, and The Forge to name a few. We did some shopping along Covent Gardens, visited the enormous department stores Harrod's and Harvey Nichols, rode the London Eye (which was a bit terrifying!), saw the famous Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace, saw Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace Theater, and walked and explored the Saturday market at Notting Hill.
