Tuesday Craving: Kelly Wearstler

Unique. That's the one word I would use to describe this beauty. Kelly Wearstler, you're a genius.

Black and White

Ever since I saw this dress here, I've been lusting over it. The geometrical shape and black and white simplicity are just right up my alley. I also looooove the way Tuula accessorized it - a little gold and a little sequin. Ok, so maybe I just want the whole ensemble.

So now I just need to find something similar since this ASOS perfection is no longer available. Any ideas?

Jenna Lyons, you are brilliant. J.Crew has done it again, ladies and gents. The Spring 2012 collection is full of beautiful, bright, fun pieces to mix and match. The colorful cardigans, silk blouses, and toothpick jeans have me craving Spring... badly.

Wednesday Craving: KARL

Is anyone as excited as I am for the brand-spanking new KARL collection that debuted today on Net-a-Porter? Some pieces are a little too biker for my taste, but others really have me swooning.  The pieces range in price from $115 for a tee to $2200 for an evening gown. And, extra plus if you live in NYC, a pop-up shop opened today on 375 Bleecker Street. I'm sure it will be total chaos there today, but I can't wait to sneak in and check out the goods in person.
p.s. If you're in PARIS, make sure to stop by the pop-up shop in St. Germain as Karl himself will be making an appearance!
Happy Shopping, luvies!

Red Denim Alert

Is it me or is red denim everywhere? There's a million different tones of red - scarlet, cherry, auburn, burgundy - and I'm loving every single one of them. You can pair it with a simple white button-down or a chunky knit for the remaining Winter months. I think I may need to add a pair of red denim to my always growing collection of colored jeans.

The Exposed Brick Wall

I truly believe that every New Yorker dreams of having an exposed brick wall (and, of course, a washer and dryer!) The exposed brick wall can usually only be found in old, pre-war buildings so that makes them pretty hard to find. However, when you find it, you can't help but fall in love. The brick adds a rustic, old time charm to a room. It's honestly better than any paint color or wallpaper, don't you think? Perhaps some day K and I will have an exposed brick wall, a washer and dryer, AND a dishwasher. Is that too much to ask?

Florals. Florals. Florals. All the floral prints are making me crave warmer weather and the sunny days of Spring. My first Spring-y purchase will be a pair of pretty, flower-y pants like the ones The Man Repeller is wearing here. Gorgeousness, si? For the time being, maybe a floral scarf or a cool pair of floral Toms will do. What are your thoughts on the floral trend?

Mae inspired me with this post and I'm, all of a sudden, feeling the orange craze. The Pastel Trend {Guest Post} Carly from A Simple Affair

Hello wonderful readers of Fashion Truffles!  Carly here from {a simple affair}. I was so happy when Viviana invited me over to share what trend I am most looking forward to this spring because (1)  I'm a daily reader of FT and love her style and (2) I got to look at gorgeous outfits for inspiration.

Let me preface this post with how much I am loving the neon trend right now and how oh so badly I want to add some bright pieces to my closet, well, like yesterday.  That being said, I was seriously inspired when I saw this image.

The first thing that caught my eye: obviously the perfectly pleated skirt.  The second thing: the assortment of sorbet hues.  Yes, please.

I know what you're thinking, and stop right there.  You will not look like an Easter egg in this ensemble.  That's what the old me would have thought.  The new and improved me calls this look sophisticated, feminine chic.  So maybe you don't wear two pastel pieces at one time or maybe you pair it your outfit with a bold bag or necklace.  Heck, throw in some neon if your heart so desires. I know I will. I firmly believe that there is a pastel piece for each and every one of you for this spring.  Here's an assortment of pieces that you can mix and match:

I'm also loving the floral prints that are popping up so I would pair any of these outfits with this Topshop beauty:

So what do you think? Will you be sporting pastel in the near future?

Thanks for stopping by, Carly! I'm slightly obsessed with the pastel trend for the Spring (is anyone ready for Winter to be over?) and your picks have me swooning!

Me And My Blogger Friends

This past Wednesday night I got to meet Tamra, Grace, and Lindsay for the first time, and Julia for the second time, at an event hosted by the Food and Wine Festival at the Hotel Americano. The event consisted of a wine and tequila tasting preview for the Ixtapa Food and Wine Festival that will be taking place March 22-24. The night was full of giggles, lots of alcohol, nugget alerts, making new and great friends, and a little hula hooping on the side (yes, hula hooping).

On a side note - Have you heard me talking about my favorite Chicago boutique, Sarca? I found this amazing shop by pure coincidence and in the process of getting hooked on the fashion this boutique carries, I have become good friends with the manager, Siera, and owner, Alexis. These ladies know their stuff! I probably email them once or twice a week with some sort of "fashion emergency" and they always know what to do. So for those Chicagoans out there, seriously, you must stop by this fashion heaven on North Wabash Ave! Anyway - back to the point now - the lovely ladies at Sarca have asked me to participate in their Fab Five series. Check out Sarca's blog and let me know what you think of my picks. Happy weekend, loves!
