Sunday Funday

The weather this weekend was fabulous. A little cold, yes, but as sunny as could be. On Sunday I had a brunch date with some friends and afterwards decided to take advantage of the sun and walked around Union Square for a bit. You can say it was the perfect Sunday.

Minty Perfection

Lily Collins is absolute perfection in this minty green Marni Pleated Sheath Dress, is she not?! I liked the look oh so much that I wanted to put together a similar ensemble for a slightly more affordable price tag - although still out of my price range (boohoo).

Cocktail Rings

Cocktail rings can add color and accessorize any outfit for any occasion. K and I are going to a formal wedding in Cartagena, Colombia in May and I'm thinking my coral colored gown will go perfectly with a pretty light turquoise ring. Thoughts? I've been dreaming of adding the classic YSL (pictured below) to my collection, but I think that may need to wait a bit.

Travel Truffle: Vieques Island

You may think at first that I'm biased with this particular destination and you might be right. I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico so I most certainly think that everything about this Enchanted Island is absolutely marvelous. Well, the Island of Vieques is a municipality of Puerto Rico that lies 8 miles east of the Puerto Rican mainland. Getting there is easy - ferry or plane. And I promise, the beaches you will see are straight out of a movie or magazine. The W Retreat and Spa in Vieques Island opened just a few years back and sits on 30 acres of stunning beachfront land.

The hotel and bold furnishings were all designed by Patricia Urquiola and produced for the hotel by B&B Italia.

findersKEEPERS Off The Wall Dress

Yes, I crave a little shopping even when I'm sick. This dress is beautiful! Perfect structure and amazingly sexy.

Recovering

Sorry for the lack of fashion inspiration today, but I'm currently in the process of recovering from a terrible stomach flu. Fun, I know. I promise to be back tomorrow with some fun stuff. Oh, and just so you know, I really don't look like this right now... sigh.

Poolside Style

I wish I lived closer to the ocean. Or maybe just had a pool in my backyard (if I had a backyard, that is). Either way, I just want to live in a sunny place where I can lounge around in a pretty bikini, a flowy cover-up and get my tan on. But I do try to take good care of my skin so I found that this self-tanner is the best! Gives you a perfect bronzy glow without making you look orange. Nothing worse than an orange tan.

Current Wishlist

All these Spring sales have me very excited! My wishlist, as I've mentioned before, is always growing and there's no better excuse than a sale to make some purchases and scratch things off from the list. Don't you agree?

1. Tibi Cami Top - The print, the colors, the cut. Tibi has done it again.
2. Viktor Rolf fragrance - Best scent ever! Really.
3. Mara Hoffman bikini - Her bikinis are something else. They fit like a glove and the prints are so exotic.
4. DV by Dolce Vita WedgesI saw these wedges on Carly's blog yesterday and I was instantly smitten. Better yet, that price can't be beaten!
5. Loren Hope fringed necklace - I'm always looking for statement necklaces and this fringe one would be perfect with a crisp white button down and boyfriend jeans.
6. Dsquared2 skinny jeans - I can't even tell you how many pairs of jeans I own. It's a lot. But I still want these.
7. Anthropologie Kamala dessert plates - I love vintage-y looking china!
8. James Perse tee - James Perse makes the most comfy, soft tees ever. I was totally inspired by Erika's post on grey tees and now this one needs to be mine.

Makeup Essentials

Every girl knows there's a few beauty products they can't live without. I try to keep my daily makeup routine simple - concealer, light pink blush or bronzer, and mascara. However, for a fun night out in the town I usually add some eye shadow (browns are my go-to eye shadow colors), eye liner, some powder, and, of course, a fun lip color to look a little more put together. Today I wanted to give a quick shout out to my favorite makeup products - the ones I can't live without. What are your makeup essentials? I always love learning about new ones so do tell.

Tuesday Craving: 3.1 Phillip Lim

3.1 Phillip Lim
I am slightly obsessed with this perfect tote. Simple design, spacious, and in a gorgeous nude color. Yes, I think I need it. What do you think?

Getaway Recap: Palm Beach

I had only been to Palm Beach once before and I remembered really enjoying my time there, but just not this much. Honestly, it's SO beautiful. The homes there are incredible. Perfectly manicured lawns, views of the water, a pleasant ocean breeze, and the sun always shining. That's the definition of perfection if you ask me. (Fun fact: We took an afternoon stroll on the bike path and as we walked by one of the many amazing mansions our friend K decided to check what Zillow had to say about the home's value. Well, Zillow said the home is valued at 48 million dollars. Yes, you read right. My jaw dropped and we kept walking.) Now, back to the getaway recap...

We had two ridiculously amazing dinners while we were there. Saturday night at Cafe Boulud and Sunday at Buccan. Highly recommend both restaurants if you're ever in the area.

All About The Dress {Guest Post} Madison from The White Ruffle

Hello fellow Fashion Trufflers. I am Madison from the lifestyle blog The White Ruffle, and I am so excited that Viv invited me over today to share some wedding wardrobe advice. I have actually been looking long and hard for the perfect dress to wear to my mom's wedding this coming summer, so I figured I would share some of my finds with all of you! As amazing as the process for looking for a dress for a wedding is (who doesn't love shopping, and what better excuse than a wedding to add a new dress to your closet, right?) it can also be a little stressful. Guys seem to have it so easy, black tie= wear a tux...formal= wear a suit...but us gals have to be a little more creative than our plus ones.

Below are some lovely ideas for some wedding attire for this upcoming wedding season! I love all of them...but one a little more than the others since one of these beauts I actually bought for my mom's wedding!

Colorful
While we are enjoying the wonderful weather that comes with Spring and Summer why not dress in bright hues too? Loving all of these lovely tangerine, orange and red tones!

Feminine
It's a wedding, need I say more...Why not dress girly for the most romantic occasion of all?!

L.B.D.
For a black tie affair, one can never go wrong with a little black or blue dress. It's always a classic and always a great addition to your closet! You can totally ware it all year round!

I hope these suggestions were helpful! If you're anything like me you have tons of weddings coming up. Can't wait to finally wear my new Alice + Olivia dress...yup I cave and bough number six. Definitely worth it.

Thanks again Viv for having me today!

xox,
madison

Airport Style: Palm Beach AND The Edit

I'm counting down the hours until I leave work and head to the airport en route to Palm Beach. Do you remember the days when sweatpants, t-shirts, and flip flops were acceptable airport attire? No more. Airport style has become much more polished. There's definitely a signature look - comfortable, but chic. My go-to airport attire consists of comfy jeans, a cozy sweater or cardigan, flats, and simple accessories. What's your go-to airport outfit?

Side note - I was introduced to Wildfox by the fabulous Morgan of The Edit and I'm HOOKED. Super soft, cozy knits at an affordable price. And speaking of The Edit - have you seen Morgan and Alex's feature on The Everygirl?! Check it out so you know what I'm talking about. This Chicago boutique is a MUST visit if you're in the area!

Etsy Favorite: Rocks Paper Metal and a Giveaway!

Today I bring you another fabulous Etsy shop I recently found. What caught my eye about the Rocks Paper Metal shop were the neon colors and fun friendship bracelets these two gals create. Truly unique and so funky! Let me give you a little background about Diana and Kat...

1. Name of Business, Your Names, Ages, Year of Creation
Rocks Paper Metal by Diana Rochford and Kat Leone. Established in 2011.

2. What inspired you ladies to open a jewelry shop?
We are long time jewelry designers who crossed paths working at an accessory company in Los Angeles. Working together we had great fun and realized we both shared the same desire to create our own designs, start our own business and drive to succeed. We bring the experience of working on many major contemporary, fine jewelry, and mass market brands such as Steve Madden, Disney, Kitson, Urban Outfitters and Forever 21. After spending ridiculous amount of hours trolling the internet for jewelry trends, we saw a gap in the market for jewelry trend forecasting and decided to start our own site. From there we couldn't help but start a jewelry line that would would aim to always to be slightly ahead of the trend and we haven't looked back.

We started our line with a very neon tribal vibe and have since introduced glitzy neon crystal and cord items. Our newest addition is a mini capsule collection of pastels, florals and brights.

3. Where do you find your inspiration?
Our jewelry trend forecasting website (RocksPaperMetal.com) keeps us on our toes. We never run out of ideas and are always talking about our next collection.. We scour the web and blogosphere for emerging trends, color pallets and love connecting with other jewelry designers. We both joke we have constant 1 minute love affairs with jewelry pieces. One minute we are drooling over a Pamela Love piece, and then we see a great designer on Etsy and our love gets transferred. We are always in love with the latest original idea we see from high end designers to the crazy stuff you see in Santee Alley, downtown Los Angeles. Its impossible to get bored with jewelry!

See what I mean? Amazingness. The new pastel pieces they've added have me swooning. Now, for some more fun. Diana and Kat have generously offered to give away one of their cord and crystal friendship bracelets in the color of your choosing! To enter just leave a comment telling me which piece is your favorite (mandatory)! And for a few extra chances (leave a separate comment for each):

Palm Beach Countdown

K and I have been planning a weekend away with some of our besties for quite some time. Now we're only three days away from our getaway to Palm Beach! We leave Friday night for three days of fun in the sun. Do you have any recommendations for restaurants or shops over there? I've only been once and honestly don't remember much!

Travel Truffle: South Africa

Why can't South Africa be a little closer? Maybe an 8 hour flight would be ideal. I've been wanting to go to South Africa for what feels like forever so when I came across the Delaire Graff Lodges & Spa I was even more convinced - a trip to South Africa would be a dream come true.

The lodge is less than an hour from Cape Town and it consists of 10 chic lodges, each with a private pool and breathtaking views of the Stellenbosch wine country.

Indochine at the Delaire Graff Lodges & Spa

Honestly, would you not loooove to visit this marvelous place? Relax by your own private pool, take a wine tour, have a meal at Indochine... sigh.

p.s. I'm over at Young Sophisticates today with my third installment of Decor Inspiration - floor to ceiling mirrors.
