Corporate Wardrobe Revival

Corporate Wardrobe Revival

After much deliberation, countless hours of lost sleep, many glasses of wine, and lots of chats with friends and loved ones I've decided to move on - career-wise. And no, I'm not talking about this lovely corner of the Internet - I'm talking about my 9 to 5. And by 9 to 5 I now mean 9 to 6. My new job will still be within the Finance department, as an Accountant, but I'm movin' on up (and North) to a much bigger bank in Midtown Manhattan. I'm excited/nervous/sad all at once... I'm sad because I'm leaving behind a place I called home for 40+ hours a week for the last 5 years. I'm excited for this new career adventure and all the opportunities it will bring. I'm nervous because, well, simply put, change makes me nervous. However, since this is a fashion blog after all, let's take today to focus on the exciting additions I'll be making to my wardrobe in preparation for the new job. Think spring shopping meets corporate attire. I'm looking to add quite a few new skirts (this J.Crew Collection one is to die for!) to the work party along with some more printed pants. And, of course, a few shirts wouldn't hurt either - i.e. a flirty wrap silk top and a fashionable crop top.

  7. Congrats on the new job! I always have a hard time leaving a job, even when I'm excited about new opportunities. I've shed tears leaving jobs, but haven't looked back.

New job, new season, new pieces in the wardrobe?! All exciting stuff. I'm loving the J Crew collection as well.

  14. Even though changing jobs can be stressful and daunting, you have the great excuse for shopping for some new work clothes! I like how you can jazz up simple pair of trousers with a top with a quirky print and/or fun handbag (this Givenchy one is to die for!). Looking forward to seeing some of your corporate outfits soon. And of course.... good luck with the move!
