Designer to Love: Vassallo

My fellow Puerto Rican, Javier Vassallo, has debuted his fall 2014 collection and it has blown me away. Remember that peter pan collar blouse I wore here and here? Oh yea, those were vassallo. For the fall 2014 collection Vassallo drew inspiration from the color-blocked Lostine bread boards crafted by American artisans and has created a collection where "East meets West." The pieces are embedded with details such as sliced fabrics, hidden zippered pockets, knitted collars and cuffs that add to the casual feel of the collection. Vassallo has created a collection that targets the "modern, strong, feminine woman" with vibrant colors and amazing detailing and has me daydreaming of adding quite a few pieces to my own wardrobe. You can browse through his collections here and shop for some pieces here. And you can be sure you'll be seeing a lot more of this Puerto Rican in the runways of NYC and on this little corner of the internet.
